The cast and crew of Anees Bazmee's Welcome Back, the sequel to the hit 2007 Bollywood comedy Welcome, are back in the UAE to shoot the final schedule for the movie, which is due out in January 2015.
The movie stars Bollywood big hitters including Nana Patekar and Anil Kapoor, who reprise their roles from the original movie as Uday Shankar Shetty and Majnu Bhai respectively, while John Abraham takes over the lead from Akshay Kumar.
The crew began shooting in Abu Dhabi yesterday, and will now be filming in Dubai for the rest of this week. They will mostly be returning to India over Eid, then returning once more for a further week’s shooting in Dubai next week.
Welcome is about a couple of mafia brothers (Patekar, Kapoor) trying to get their sister (Katrina Kaif) married but are unsuccessful because no one wants to be associated with criminals, until she falls in love with a man (Akshay Kumar) who has no idea what he's getting into.

The flights
Etihad and Emirates fly direct to Kolkata from Dh1,504 and Dh1,450 return including taxes, respectively. The flight takes four hours 30 minutes outbound and 5 hours 30 minute returning.
The trains
Numerous trains link Kolkata and Murshidabad but the daily early morning Hazarduari Express (3’ 52”) is the fastest and most convenient; this service also stops in Plassey. The return train departs Murshidabad late afternoon. Though just about feasible as a day trip, staying overnight is recommended.
The hotels
Mursidabad’s hotels are less than modest but Berhampore, 11km south, offers more accommodation and facilities (and the Hazarduari Express also pauses here). Try Hotel The Fame, with an array of rooms from doubles at Rs1,596/Dh90 to a ‘grand presidential suite’ at Rs7,854/Dh443.
