A true story about late King Faisal bin Abdulaziz's diplomatic mission to London has won the best feature film at a festival in Britain.

Born A King was bestowed the honour at the Inward Eye Film Festival for independent cinema.

The event was held at the Zeffirellis cinema in Ambleside in northern England.

Four years in the making, Born A King stars Ed Skrein (Deadpool), Hermione Cornfield (Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation) and is produced by Andres Vicente Gomez.

The movie tells the story of the prince, aged only 14, being sent by his warrior father to London in 1919 to negotiate the formation of his country with Lord Curzon and Winston Churchill among many other eminent political figures.

The Saudi royal's job was to persuade the great powers, after the collapse of the Ottoman Empire in the First World War, to adopt a policy of non-interference towards the kingdom.

The film was up against 26 other screenplays.
